Lip blushing is a semi permanent, cosmetic tattoo that uses medical-grade, hypoallergenic, water-based inks to achieve a tinted, natural-looking lip color. The technique and color choices create a natural, blush, candy or “just bitten” look to the lips. Your PMU Specialist uses a small needle and works softly on the lips to very gently implant the color without creating too heavy of a lip-liner/border appearance. Colors are chosen for the client’s desired results and skin tones, but the overall goal is to give lips life and a natural tint without being too dramatic, creating a soft blush appearance.

After your session you can expect to look like you’re wearing lipstick combined with a mild lip-filler pout. The color looks really vibrant days 1-3 after the appointment. Around day 3-5, the lips will softly flake, and the following day they appear almost entirely healed. This soft technique we use ensures the lips will heal quickly and with minimal discomfort. A touchup can be done anytime after 4 weeks but usually isn’t necessary for 12-18 months.

Many people who’ve had lip fillers to enhance fullness and create a beautiful pout notice that the vermillion border can appear less defined due to the slight stretch and added volume to the tissue. It is highly recommended that you take Valtrex (prescribed from your doctor) prior to this procedure if you suffer from coldsore. Slight trauma to the lips may cause an outbreak of cold sore if you are prone to them.

Results can last 18 months to 5 years. Fading will occur over time due to lifestyle, skin type, cellular turnover and sun exposure. Annual color boosts are recommended but not always needed.
